Dr. Selena Ramkeesoon, CEO
Selena is a seasoned marketing communications expert with 20+ years of experience developing and implementing evidence-based, award-winning initiatives across B2B, B2G, and non-profit/association sectors. She brings mastery in messaging and content strategy, devising and executing integrated communications campaigns to enhance the position and reputation of innovation-driven organizations. Selena aims to improve customer experiences by using journey mapping principles to create relatable engagement and content strategies.
Selena was Vice President and Corporate Officer at global consulting firms, leading multimillion-dollar portfolios. She served as a senior leader for international M&As, global business development, and strategist for programs in the U.S., Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean. She also excelled in a variety of leadership roles at public relations agencies in the DC metro area.
In 2016 and 2017, Selena led the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) multimillion-dollar Zika virus health education and behavior change initiative across the United States and Puerto Rico. As the Project Director, she directed groundbreaking work to reach audiences with accurate information on the Zika virus.
She is an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer with the online MBA program at the American University Kogod School of Business and an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the MBA program at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Selena also serves on research review panels for the National Academy of Medicine. She speaks and conducts training for organizations such as CDC, U.S. Department of State, Georgetown University, Distance Teaching & Learning (DT&L) Conference, Public Relations Society of America, and the World Social Marketing Conference.
Selena earned her Doctor of Management degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, a BA in History and Government from the University of the West Indies, and is PMP certified.
